Here is the next Missionary Spotlight. Each month I will highlight a different missionary that my wife and I know somewhere around the world. We encourage you to pray for them and their work. You will find contact info if you want to send them an encouraging note and also information on how to donate towards their ministry if you feel so led. The next missionaries are Lenard and Debbie Nance. You can find out more info about Lenard and Debbie, including contact info, at their website: Connecting Cultures and Lenard's Blog.
Lenard and Debbie have been married for 32 years, have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. They started their missions life in 1991 by taking a Discipleship Training School (DTS) with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Tyler, Texas. In 1993 they were accepted on staff with YWAM Salem, Oregon where they have served for the last 16 years.
In 1993 the Lord gave Lenard and Debbie a vision of seeing a YWAM operating center in Southeast Alaska. The Lord refined that focus to connecting the Native people of Southeast Alaska with unreached tribal people around the world, engaing them with the message of Jesus Christ through their own culture. Lenard and Debbie launched Connecting Cultures in Christ in 2003 to intentionally move forward with mobilizing Southeast Alaskan Natives to missions.
Lenard and Debbie are currently in the process of developing property, donated in 2008, for a YWAM operating center in Ketchikan, Alaska. This is one of the main gateways to Southeast Alaska. They will move to Alaska this year. After all these years in pursuit of God's leading and provision, they are experiencing the joy and excitement of seeing their dream fulfilled.
Donations are needed for property development and ministry costs. You can donate to the ministry of Lenard and Debbie Nance via Connecting Cultures in Christ, PO Box 12647, Salem, OR 97309
